Dr. Alex Duarte, O.D., PhD, is a nationally recognized lecturer, author, and media personality. He has spoken on hundreds of radio shows throughout the United States, and he currently appears regularly on television to educate people on the benefits of all-natural health care.

Ever since he was a toddler, Dr. Alex Duarte has been the victim of numerous heart problems and a weakened immune system that caused him to battle through many illnesses. As he grew older, he embarked on a lifelong mission to study natural methods of healing. The nutritional changes that he personally implemented enabled him to turn his life around, and defeat his problems. While on his quest, Dr. Duarte has traveled worldwide and researched hundreds of professional medical journals to find the best nontoxic, nutritional therapies available for combating numerous health issues. He developed his focus on the eye and body, and as a renowned author on the subject, he has shared the results of this research in numerous articles, reports, and best-selling health books.

After starting his medical career as a microbiologist, Dr. Duarte earned a California secondary teaching credential, where he instructed students in biology and chemistry. He then went on to earn his doctorate in Optometry, where he would spend nine years in clinical practice. Dr. Duarte possesses a Ph.D. in Nutrition, and is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Medical Preventives. He has been a featured speaker and board member of the National Health Federation, and he has lectured for the American Naturopathic Association, the Cancer Control Society, and the National Nutritional Foods Association. Dr. Duarte has been the nutritionist for several Olympic champions, and has also served as a faculty member of Vision Expo, one of the largest educational programs for eye doctors in the United States. He is currently a member of the Board of Editors for the Journal of Applied Nutrition.
